During approximately the second half of his life, Eugen Jochum appeared in the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. He was "only" a respected guest at first, and in later years, this was extended to a relationship in which he shared the house, so to say.
The period in which Eugen Jochum interpreted the most interesting repertoire falls undoubtedly in the years 1961 - 1974, when he was closely attached to the Amsterdam Concertgebouw Orchestra.
